Regional training on fisheries MCS for West Africa

The Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) in collaboration with the West Africa Task Force, Stop Illegal Fishing, NFDS,   TMT (Trygg Mat Tracking) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is organising a regional training to be held in Accra, Ghana from July 26th- 29th, 2016 within the framework of the project “Fisheries Intelligence and MCS support in West Africa.”

The objective of the workshop is to build national and regional capacity to generate and analyse fisheries intelligence, activate monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) operations and develop cases that can then be prosecuted by legal teams.

Each FCWC Member State is invited with five (5) participants from different national agencies actively involved in fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance.
